Manufacturer - Żagań Glassworks in Iłowa
The State Glassworks in Iłowa began its operations on September 1, 1945, as a result of the transformation of the pre-war German glassworks Glashüttenwerke H. Kleinpaul. In September 1947, the plant changed its name to the "Iłowa" Glass Works. In 1950, the Łuknica Bottle and Household Glassworks from Łęknica and the Glass Works in Wymiarki were incorporated into the Żagańskie Huty Szkła company, which brought together the glassworks from Iłowa. The Żagań Glassworks in Iłowa were subordinate to the Ministry of Glass Industry, and then to the Ministry of Building Materials Industry. The plant produced packaging glass for the food and pharmaceutical industries, glass blocks and electrical insulators. In the years 1988-1991, Żagańskie Huty Szkła in Iłowa was transformed into a joint-stock company Vitrosilicon S.A., a 100% subsidiary of Ciech S.A.
